
Jung Eun Shin
Therapist
Jung Eun is a compassionate play therapist who creates a warm and non-judgmental space for children and teens. With a background in play therapy and art, she specialises in empowering young persons to process difficult emotions, build problem-solving skills, and ultimately improve their mental health and well-being.
Born and raised in Korea, Jung Eun received her Bachelor’s degree from Stanford University with a major in Visual Arts and a minor in Psychology. After receiving her Masters from New York University, she worked as a visual artist and volunteered at various social welfare organisations. Jung Eun received her training as a play therapist from Play Therapy UK (PTUK) and has been a registered Play Therapist through Play Therapy International (PTI). She is skilled in both non-directive (child-centered) and directive play therapy approaches.
Grounded in evidence-based play therapy techniques, Jung Eun utilises a variety of play activities to help children express their emotions, build meaningful relationships and find solutions to their problems. The therapeutic process can involve any or all of the following: talking, drama, storytelling, art, sandplay, music, dance and movement, clay, puppets and creative visualisation.
With experience in various clinical settings, including local and international schools and NGOs, Jung Eun has worked with a diverse range of young persons, including those dealing with trauma, depression, anxiety, grief, ADHD, autism spectrum disorder and behavioural challenges.
She assists parents and caregivers to understand and support their child's emotional and social development. She is passionate about helping children build resilience, self-esteem, and healthy coping mechanisms, while also fostering positive relationships with their families and peers.
